YA Mourns the Passing of Jeff Vega

We mourn the loss of Jeff Vega, Princeton Area Community Foundation’s President. We are grateful for all Jeff did to improve the lives of our area’s young children. His understanding of the importance of arts education was visionary. Jeff’s leadership supported YA’s mission in every way–through grants, special projects, collaborations, and as fund holders. His enthusiasm and dedication to helping others was unparalleled.

In 2018, Jeff performed as a VIP dancer at Young Audiences’ Dazzle gala, a “Dancing with the Stars” dance contest. He wowed the crowds with his fun and energetic performance and his efforts helped raise critical funds for arts education programs.

Michele Russo, YA’s President & CEO shared: “We are deeply saddened by this immense loss, both the loss of the relationships we shared with Jeff, and for the loss to the entire community that was strengthened by his presence. Not only was Jeff an amazing leader, he was friendly and warm, and made you feel comfortable, welcome and respected. When Jeff was a VIP dancer in 2018, he took the role—but not himself—seriously. What a life lesson. We share our heartfelt condolences with his family and those closest to Jeff.”

For all the ways he supported young people and for his belief in the power of the arts to transform lives, Jeff will be remembered fondly at YA, and his legacy will continue for years to come.
