Welcome Michael Roberson Reid, YA’s New AIE & APLI Manager!
Michael Roberson Reid, AIE & APLI Manager
Michael is excited to join the YA team as the Artists in Education Residency Grant Program (AIE) and the Arts Professional Learning Institute (APLI) Manager, where he will support opportunities to pair teaching artists and school educators as well as facilitate partnerships that bring in-depth arts education programs to New Jersey schools. In addition to his work with YA, Michael is also a writer, cultural curator, and podcaster. His personal mission is to help people thrive at the intersection of purpose and liberation.
“I’m truly honored and excited to be joining the Young Audiences family. Art, advocacy, and education have been the main driving forces in my life, and now I’m able to synthesize them. For those of us that are privileged enough to be in these positions, we have an opportunity to bring about the world we have dreamed of. I hope I can contribute to a legacy that will still be thriving long after I’m gone, and I hope to infuse some joy into the world while doing it. I truly do believe that a revolution without dancing is not a revolution worth having.”
The Artists in Education Residency Grant Program (AIE) and Arts Professional Learning Institute (APLI) are co-sponsored projects of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Young Audiences Arts for Learning NJ & Eastern PA. AIE is carried out in partnership with Appel Farm Arts & Music Campus, Count Basie Center for the Arts, and Morris Arts. APLI is generously supported by the Grunin Foundation and Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.
