YA Arts Exchange Seminar and Artist Celebration Day
Tuesday, June 17th – 10am-12:30pm at YA
YA will offer our next Arts Exchange professional development seminar, titled DIY Documentation: Capturing the Moment. The seminar will take place from 10:00AM-12:30PM, and is FREE and open to the public. Pre-registration is required since space is limited.
DIY Documentation: Capturing the Moment will provide individual artists with the chance to learn best practices for documenting their work with a savvy DIY approach.
A special guest panel of master teaching artists will share strategies to capture the story of a residency or ongoing program, using film and various online platforms. Participants will then have the opportunity to create their own documentation plans in small groups with guidance from our special guests, as well as their peers.
The Panel
Kevin Pyle – Graphic Novelist and Young Audiences Teaching Artist
Kate Marie Sclavi – Community Artist and Young Audiences Teaching Artist
Laura Deutch – Filmmaker and Young Audiences Teaching Artist
Denyce Mylson – Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania Director of Marketing & Public Relations
Following the seminar in the morning, please join us for an R.O.P – A Relaxing Outdoor Picnic! An R.O.P is a great chance to meet other artists on the Young Audiences roster and to learn about exciting projects happening across the Tri-State area, while enjoying a nice picnic lunch. * You do not have to attend the seminar to be able to attend the R.O.P.
To make this day even more AWESOME, there will also be a Photo Session from 10:30PM-2:30PM. Open to both large ensembles and individual artists, a professional photographer will be available to take photos that can be used for future Young Audiences publicity materials, including new program brochure and our website.
