Artist in Residence Video Wins a Gold Award NJCAMA’S Astra Awards!

Last week a video made in collaboration with Young Audiences and Tim Loretangeli from Random Thought Studio highlighting YA Teaching Artist Kevin Pyle in a graphic novel residency at Bradley Beach Elementary School was honored with a GOLD AWARD at the NJ Communications, Advertising and Marketing Association’s (NJCAMA) Annual ASTRA Awards. The ceremony was held on October 10th at Jasna Polana in Princeton.
“It is wonderful to receive recognition for this collaboration with Random Thought Studio that beautifully shares one school’s journey through our AIE residency grant program and the impact the arts have in education,” shared Denyce Mylson, Young Audiences Director of Marketing & Public Relations.
Special shout out of gratitude to Michelle Baxter-Schaffer who helped in the creation of the video, Tim at Random Thought Studio, Teaching Artist Kevin Pyle, and the students and educators at Bradley Beach Elementary School.
This residency at Bradley Beach Elementary was part of The Artists in Education Residency Grant Program and is a co-sponsored project of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Young Audiences Arts for Learning NJ & Eastern PA. The program is carried out in partnership with regional partners, including Appel Farm Arts & Music Campus, Count Basie Center for the Arts, and Morris Arts.
The Astra Awards is an annual awards celebration open to all communication professionals in the state of New Jersey. The organization, which was founded in 1986, has a mission to support a community of creative and business professionals with programs and resources that continually improve the effectiveness and integrity of communications, delivered through advertising, marketing programs, public relations and other tactical efforts.
