Jennifer SireyArt Form(s):
"The arts humanize the curriculum while affirming the interconnectedness of all forms of knowing. They are a powerful means to improve general education."
Jennifer Sirey is a sculptor born and based in Brooklyn, NY. Her sculpture incorporates math and scientific phenomena and has been exhibited in New York at Feature, Inc., Derek Eller, Sara Meltzer, Thread Waxing Space, and Four Walls; in Miami at the Kevin Bruk Gallery; and abroad at Galerie Analix Forever and Delfina Project Space.
In 2001, Jennifer entered the field of education by creating a program for public schools called S.P.E.C.T.R.U.M. (Specialized Projects Encouraging Children To Really Understand Math). This program engages teachers and students in hands-on projects that integrate math and art. Jennifer teaches throughout New York City and the greater tri-state area. She also is currently working with a team of colleagues at the NYC Leadership Program to develop a charter school that champions constructive and applied learning.
